MISFIT APP- COMMAND INTEGRATION
Misfit Command integration is a new redesign of the Misfit app’s onboarding and feature sections to accomodate the function and capability of the Command Hybrid Smartwatch. This is Misfit’s first hybrid smartwatch incorporating a small sub-dial with icons indicating which mode the device is in. The biggest challenge to onboarding Misfit users to the Command was communicating what the watch is displaying without the options of a digital screen.
DESIGN PROCESS
I designed an experience that allows users to master each feature so that they can take advantage of the device’s full capabilities and ultimately minimize the need to pull out their smartphone.
I created an animated sequence in Adobe After Effects which simulates and defines the device’s utilities offering content, symbolism and movement for holistic instruction.
The animated sequence leads into Misfit’s traditional onboarding which happens simultaneously as the device is pairing through bluetooth. I consolidated an existing activity reminder screen with the new activity tracking feature, as well as created new screens for the day/date and second timezone features.
